ABOUT THE ROLE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and coordinate the waiting staff during service, assigning stations and breaks.
Train, mentor, and onboard new waiters/waitresses on service standards.
Oversee table setup, mise en place, and ensure sections are guest-ready before service.
Greet and seat VIP or regular guests personally, maintaining strong guest relationships.
Take orders and manage service for high-profile tables when needed.
Monitor service flow between kitchen and floor, ensuring timing and quality standards.
Handle guest complaints and escalate or resolve issues on the spot.
Conduct daily briefings with the team on menu changes, specials, allergens, and events.
Monitor stock levels of cutlery, glassware, linen, and service supplies.
Ensure compliance with hygiene, health & safety, and food safety standards (HACCP).
Support the Restaurant Manager/F&B Manager with rota planning and performance reviews.
Upsell food and beverage items, supporting revenue targets.
Manage reservations and floor plan allocation in coordination with hosts.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
Excellent guest service orientation and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of food & beverage service standards (silver service, wine service, etc.).
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure during peak service.
Strong communication skills, often multilingual in international properties.
Conflict resolution and complaint-handling ability.
Attention to detail (table settings, presentation, cleanliness).
Basic POS system and reservation software proficiency.
Financial awareness (upselling, cash handling, stock control).
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Fluency in English and French; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
