ROLE OVERVIEW
The Director of Finance – Cluster (Pre-Opening) will lead the financial strategy, governance, and pre-opening readiness across multiple properties within the cluster.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for establishing financial frameworks, controls, and systems from the ground up, while acting as a key business partner to operations and corporate leadership.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring financial stability, compliance, and successful pre-opening execution, setting the foundation for long-term performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Financial Leadership
Lead the financial strategy and planning across the cluster during pre-opening phase
Act as a key advisor to senior leadership and ownership, providing strategic financial direction
Drive financial performance, investment decisions, and long-term value creation
Pre-Opening Financial Setup
Establish and implement financial structures, policies, and reporting frameworks across all properties
Lead the development of pre-opening budgets, forecasts, and cash flow strategies
Ensure readiness of systems, controls, and processes prior to opening
Cluster Financial Management
Oversee all financial operations across multiple properties, ensuring consistency and accuracy
Lead financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis at cluster level
Monitor cash flow, financial risks, and overall performance
Governance, Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax requirements, and corporate standards
Establish and maintain robust internal controls and audit processes
Oversee financial governance across all properties within the cluster
Commercial & Operational Partnership
Partner closely with operations to support commercial strategy and business performance
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve profitability
Support procurement strategy, contract negotiations, and cost optimisation
Team Leadership & Development
Build, lead, and develop finance teams across the cluster
Establish clear structures, accountability, and performance standards
Support recruitment, onboarding, and capability building during pre-opening
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA/ACCA preferred)
10+ years of hospitality finance experience, including multi-property and pre-opening exposure
Strong experience in financial strategy, governance, and system implementation
In-depth understanding of local financial regulations, tax, and compliance requirements
Proven ability to lead finance functions in complex, multi-asset environments
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Advanced proficiency in financial systems (PMS, POS, ERP) and reporting tools
Fluent in English and Arabic
